Context
Clients found value in the Unaided Awareness Ranking feature but wanted to be able to check not just how individual titles perform, but how franchises are as a whole rank across markets and segments. This insight came through client feedback and user interviews, highlighting a need for a more holistic view of brand performance across titles under the same IP.
Challenge
The platform only displayed awareness rankings by individual game titles, making it hard for clients to understand the overall impact of a franchise. The goal was to design an additional Franchise-Level View, giving users the option to toggle between Game View and Franchise View while maintaining clarity, performance, and usability.
Process
Feedback Collection
Gathered recurring feedback from Product Manager during the discovery call meetings.
Common request: “Can we see how our franchise performs overall, not just the latest title?”
Research & Definition
Analyzed how users interpret “franchise” and how they expect it grouped in data.
Defined what qualifies as a franchise within the data model and what descriptions might be shown to the users.
Design & Testing
Designed a new toggle component (Game vs. Franchise View) to easily switch data modes.
Introduced franchise grouping logic within charts and ranking tables.
Iteration & Implementation
Refined visuals based on clients and Product Managers feedback
Coordinated with Product and Data teams to ensure alignment with backend structure.
